Japan is definitely a more strict country when it comes to eligibility, especially for the working holiday visa here's a quick checklist:
Be aged 20 to 30 to adhere to the working holiday visa rules
Be from the UK, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand or Australia
Have a valid drivers licence - highly preferred
Be in good physical and mental health
Have proof of funds of £2000+ when it comes to the visa application

This visa facilitates cultural exchange by allowing young people to explore Japan while working and there a requirements to be eligible including:
1. Applicants must be between 20-30 years old. You must be 20 at time of application not arrival.
2. Only citizens from countries with reciprocal agreements with Japan are eligible.
3. Must demonstrate sufficient initial funds, usually about £3000, to cover early expenses and return travel.
4. A medical certificate may be required to confirm good health.
5. The primary reason for the stay must be for a holiday, with work being secondary.
6. This visa can only be granted once in a person's lifetime. If you've done it before, you will not be able to get it again.
7. Valid for up to one year, depending on nationality.
8. Work is allowed to supplement travel funds but is restricted in certain sectors.
9. Freely leave and re-enter Japan during the visa validity.
10. Cannot generally convert to another visa type or extend beyond the initial period.

Absolutely! However, you will need to go through quite a big application process and sometimes applicants may fail this aspect and be asked to transfer to another program.
Thanks to our extensive network of school partners in Japan, we would only accept if you if we are 100% confident you'll get placed. These positions are entry-level, requiring no previous experience. With TFT supporting you, you'll be a welcomed addition to any school.

Most of the school placements are regional and out of the way of big cities. The schools will help pay for a rental car for you for the duration to get to and from school and to use in your spare time! You could still be considered without a licence but it will work on a case by case basis and can't be guaranteed

We work with school partners nationwide and the team will talk to you about your preferences. Typically the locations are in surrounding areas of major cities such Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto!

The program fee covers an extensive array of services, including the TEFL course, pre-departure support, the placement process, in-country orientation, and continuous support from the local team. This ensures that from your first day until your last in Japan, you have comprehensive support and peace of mind, knowing there is always someone available to help with any issues that may arise.

The local team TFT hires will assist you in helping you view apartments in your first week which will be close by to your school. Typically it will be a small one bedroom, traditional japanese apartment. Costs range from £300-400 per month for something quite small and rises for bigger more modern apartments. You will have full housing assistance and don't need to do any house hunting on your own.
